Program Manager, Quality Improvement
Hallmark Health System, Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, Melrose, MA The Program Manager, Quality Improvement reports directly to the Vice President of Quality Improvement and assists with implementation of a system-wide Performance Improvement program consistent with the board approved plans and regulatory and standard setting agencies. This individual adheres to the Board of Registration in Nursing rules and regulations, ANA scope and standards of nursing, the ANA code of ethics for nursing, Hallmark Health System policies and procedures and other regulatory stipulations. Additionally, this position will coordinate and integrate intradepartmental services on site. Responsibilities include the coordination of regulatory and voluntary reporting of quality data and reports to outside agencies as required. The Manager will take a leadership role in developing and implementing strategies to improve patient care as well as develop and implements policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services. This individual attends Medical Staff, Hospital Committee and departmental meetings where monitoring and evaluation functions and quality management activities are performed and agreed upon by the Chairman of the Committee on site and the Director of the service. Monitors follow-up on all quality management issues related to Performance Improvement team and outside Performance Improvement projects. This position will also interview, hire, counsel, coach, and employ progressive discipline rewards and recognition, as appropriate with employees. Manages staff to foster retention. Current Massachusetts RN license in good standing and a minimum of five years' recent acute clinical nursing experience required. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in nursing required; Master's degree in nursing preferred. Must possess the ability to organize and prioritize workload in order to meet deadlines. The ideal candidate must demonstrate he ability to facilitate performance improvement process. The ability to manage multiple competing priorities as well as collaborate with all members of the healthcare team are essential. Strong written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills are required. Must have proficient computer skills including word and database software.
